The Noho Star Bloody Mary

The Noho Star was our favorite brunch restaurant in the East Village. There was never a wait, the burgers were delicious, and their Bloody Mary was unlike any other. Sadly, it permanently closed in 2017 after 32 years. During our last meal with them, we asked for their Bloody Mary recipe.

• ½ tsp kosher salt
• ½ coarsely ground black pepper
• ½ tsp very fresh, hot horseradish
• 1 oz six-year balsamic vinegar
• 1 lemon wedge - squeeze
• 3 oz vodka
• 2 bar spoons extra-finely-chopped red onions
• 1 bar spoon extra-finely-chopped jalapeño peppers

1. Fill glass ⅔ full with chilled Knudsen’s Organic tomato juice
2. Add ice so that drink reaches ½” below rim
3. Shake all ingredients together, including lemon wedge
4. Layer the onions and jalapeño peppers on top
